Fibertech Networks – Market Operations Manager – 2012 to Present

* Manage and oversee a new 340 mile new infrastructure project with 120 new cell tower sites, multiple  

   contractors, in-house project managers & field technicians, inspectors, etc.

* Design/Engineer new network infrastructure to complete customer contracts.

* Identify and assist in the management process of permits and licenses.

* Design/Engineer network rebuilds to include laterals and backbone infrastructure.

* Provide network routes and captial expenditure budget to the sales group.

* Maintain the security of the outside fiber plant (OSP) network, either aerial and/or underground, throughout area of responsibility by managing cable location, by locating contractors and initiating protection activities. Work closely with other carriers, local/ state agencies and building owners/landlords on new building additions and relocations.
* Utilize a variety of systems for the processing and reporting of work activities, inventorying OSP facilities, documentation of projects and managing various budgets to include but not limited to new construction and route maintenance/protection.
* Work closely with upstream groups, complete fiber verification requests, project estimations, designs, bids, permits and manages construction of new building additions. Monitor infrastructure builds and review punch lists and approves work to meet industry construction standards. Prepare project timelines, prepare and track budgets and provide detailed weekly status reports.
* Obtain value added contractors/subcontractors for engineering, permitting and construction of OSP infrastructure. Obtain and manage contractors for route protection. Maintain fiber splice records, network topography records and fiber mapping.
* Direct emergency restoration and mitigation activities required for the OSP network. This includes fiber optic damages, natural disasters, power failures and other events.
* Manage contract and/or employee fiber splicers. Provide on the job divisional training to employees and oversees contractors to ensure the proper method and procedures of facility protection and maintenance are followed. This includes the use of locating equipment, use of Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) and troubleshooting tone generation/reception in field.

Duke Energy - Contractor – Telecommunications Specialist – 2004 to 2007

* Team Member of Duke Energy Engineering Group responsible for calculating make-ready issues on electric   

   company owned poles to allow for new fiber communications contacts.       

* Calculations were made to meet NESC codes for vertical spacing, mid-span sag,

   adequate guying, company construction standards, etc.

* Worked extensively throughout Cincinnati for the Duke Energy capital venture project “Current Communications”

   for deployment of residential fiber for cable TV, utility monitoring services, etc.

* Traveled extensively throughout Indiana for a federally funded fiber communication connectivity project involving

   Duke Energy transmission and distribution line adjustments and pole engineering.

* Personally developed an audit program and spreadsheet for Duke Energy where communications

  attachments were comprehensively documented by type, quantity, ownership and type of violation if applicable.

* The audit yielded thousands of violations, undocumented attachments and generated a new continuous source

   of revenue for Duke Energy.

 

 

Adelphia Communications – 1987 to 2004

* Managed employees and contractors during an extensive hybrid fiber optic over-build of

  coaxial cable T.V. plant in Ohio and Indiana.

* Responsible for calculating project cost, ordering, receiving and warehousing materials.

* Reviewed and signed off on weekly contractor invoices, exceeding $350,000.

* Kept project of 33 million dollars under budget and ahead of schedule.

 

Field Technician

* Proactive maintenance on all coaxial and existing fiber plant.
